Montage Group works on a wide range of projects, from affordable to high-end kitchens, commercial fit-outs, wardrobes, laundries, reception desks, and other custom cabinetry. There is Lots of variety in the type of projects going through our factory!
Based in Frankton, Hamilton – we have modern facilities (assembly shop built 2024) with a seperate building for the machine shop – resulting in a quieter, tidier assembly area. Along with a brand new showroom, offices and smoko room.
About the role:
We’re looking for a practical, hands-on person with cabinet making / joinery experience to join our team.
The role involves working closely with our production manager and joiners/cabinet makers. You’ll be involved in directing joiners on day-to-day requirements, training apprentices, improving health and safety procedures and supporting our team to ensure projects run smoothly. Along with time on the tools working on cabinetry/joinery jobs too.
This role includes:
- Communicating clearly with builders and clients and our team internally
- Providing support for our production / assembly team. Responding to technical questions, checking plans for complex jobs, upskilling others who are lacking technical cabinetmaking experience.
- Assisting the production manager to meet deadlines and get work out on time
- Quality control checks and improving processes to ensure jobs are completed to a high standard and delivered complete without missing parts.
- Keeping other staff on time and on task to meet required deadlines
- Assembling your own assigned jobs/projects
- Training apprentices and other staff
- Ensuring safe work practices are being followed.
What you’ll need:
- Cabinet making / joinery qualification or experience.
- A good understanding of products and materials used in NZ joinery manufacturing.
- Ability to read shop drawings / production plans and spec sheets.
- Good communication skills and attention to detail.
- Experience managing staff or training others.
- Full driver licence
