Joinery Project Manager / CAD Designer
Montage Group works on a wide range of projects, from affordable to high-end kitchens, commercial fit-outs, wardrobes, laundries, reception desks, and other custom cabinetry.
About the role:
We’re looking for a practical, hands-on project manager to take ownership of our more complex jobs, especially high-end kitchens and commercial fit-outs, and make sure they’re right before they reach the factory floor.
You’ll connect clients, builders, our designers and our production team. You’ll keep projects on track and catch problems before they turn into return trips to site.
What you’ll do:
- Carry out site measures and client consultations, at our showroom or on site
- Manage projects (residential & commercial) from start to finish, working with builders, architects, main contractors, installers and our production team
- Check drawings, specs and details before production so jobs are right first time
- Work out how complex cabinetry will be built, including detail drawings, labour times and costs
- Support our designers with site measures, technical advice and problem-solving
- Prepare quotes and spec sheets when required
- Draw plans and production drawings in Microvellum or Polyboard where needed
The ideal candidate:
- A cabinetmaking or joinery trade background (qualified preferred)
- Experience running projects, whether kitchens, fit-outs or building
- CAD drawing experience, ideally Polyboard or Microvellum.
If you’ve used other drawing software and are keen to learn, we’d still like to hear from you - Good knowledge of NZ joinery materials and hardware, construction methods and site health & safety
- Well organised, a clear communicator and good with detail
- Comfortable with email, spreadsheets and general computer use
- Full driver’s licence
Location:
Based at our office at 121 Ellis St, Frankton, Hamilton, with regular travel around the Waikato and occasional trips to Auckland and the Bay of Plenty.
